PS Charles KARAKYE officiates the opening of a TVET Sub-sector  working group retreat

Musanze,16 September 2021:The Permanent Secretary  Mr. Charles Karakye officiated the opening of the three day TVET Sub-sector  working group retreat  that brought together participants from MINEDUC, Rwanda Polytechnic and all its 6 Colleges, Rwanda TVET Board , Private Sector Federation ,various Development Partners and a Delegation that came from Malawi  

In his opening remarks, PS Karakye said : "Today’s forum represents a turning point in the process of implementing the recent reforms within TVET System, reforms that restructured and reorganized all TVET institutions".

He also added : " We need to come up with a joint planning, implementation and strong monitoring of initiatives, programs and projects that Rwandan youth are benefiting through TVET and its success will depend on the support and active engagement of every stakeholder."

The retreat  was held in Musanze from 16 to 18 Septermber2021 and btought together more than 70 people. Its objective was to  collect final inputs in the finalization of the strategic documents as well as to discuss on strategies for fast tracking the NST 1 TVET related targets. It was also an appropriate forum for addressing issues related to many un-coordinated and scattered efforts through discussing the challenges, mitigation strategies and coming forward with a joint planning and an implementation plan.
