PM Boris Johnson visits GS Kacyiru II

Kigali 23/06/2022.:  The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Boris Johnson together with the Minister of State in Charge of Primary and Secondary Education Hon.Gaspard TWAGIRAYEZU visited GS Kacyiru II a public school located in Gasabo district in  Kigali City.

During his visit at the school, PM Boris Johnson observed a Primary 3 English lesson and read a story for students from the English Pupil Activity book provided to all schools by Building Learning Foundations (BLF). He also participated in a Girls' club activity supported by BLF where members were drawing their future aspirations.

PM Boris later participated in a community of practice where mathematics teachers learn how to make their own teaching and learning materials.

Mr Boris revealed that he once was a teacher of English and Mathematics and took this occasion to commend the commitment of teachers at GS Kacyiru for their excellent work towards improving learning outcomes for all children, especially girls.

GS Kacyiru II is a public school with over 1,500 learners from primary to secondary levels and is one of the schools supported by the British High Commission through the BLF programme across the country to improve  learning outcomes in English and Mathematics.
